FAQs
-
Using your Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA): These pre-tax accounts can be used to pay for various healthcare expenses, including therapy sessions.
Less Frequent Sessions: If committing to weekly sessions is financially challenging, you can opt for scheduling sessions every other week, mini sessions, and eventually monthly sessions to make it more manageable.
Submitting Superbills: Request and submit monthly Superbills to your insurance provider for reimbursement of out-of-network therapy benefits.
Using your Employee Assistance Program (EAP): If you or your spouse's employer offers this, it might cover the cost of several therapy sessions, which is a fantastic perk!

The Answer is YES!
Therapy has been proven effective for children. With nearly 12 years of experience, I have witnessed remarkable transformations. Therapy provides a safe space where children can express their feelings and learn essential skills like relaxation and social interaction. It helps them identify and address problematic thoughts and behaviors. Watching the magic of play and healing unfold during therapy sessions is truly incredible.

Many people are nervous after scheduling the first therapy appointment and wonder what the first session will be like. The goal of the first appointment is primarily information-gathering.
One or both parents, or the child/teen or adult themselves, will meet privately with the therapist to discuss their concerns, as well as background and any other relevant information.
In order to develop the best treatment for yourself or your child, together you and the therapist will spend approximately 60-90 minutes discussing these things in detail, including educational, medical, and psychological history. At the end of the session, the therapist will have a better idea of the most effective course of treatment and will answer any questions you have about this plan or the therapy process in general.
-
This can vary from person to person, and mostly depends on what you're working towards. During our first 1-3 appointments we will be exploring and agreeing on therapy goals to focus on together. Based on your goals, we can discuss an estimated timeline of treatment for your own unique needs.

Superbills are an invoice that includes information about services you received from me for your insurance to be able to reimburse you. They include dates, service type (therapy code for insurance), length of session, amount paid by you, and a diagnosis code so that your insurance carrier receives all the information they need to reimburse some of the cost to you.

No Surprises Act and Good Faith Estimate
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
